IT’S FREE TO BE A PART OF THE YCA
Be a part of something new in social care
The responsibility is ours to make a difference and only by #working together will we achieve these goals
Social & Healthcare
The role of the Yorkshire Care Alliance is to put Social Care FIRST.
It sounds awkward to say it because we have always been used to being last and some might say forgotten. The real power is in the hands of the stakeholders in the Social Care sector, the unpaid carers, the care providers, the suppliers to the sector, the individuals being cared for and the families of everyone involved in providing or supporting social care.
One definition of Social is: Human beings interacting individually or in groups to improve the welfare of people in society. We think it's time to start interacting and making those small changes that improves the welfare of people in OUR society. If you feel the same then join us and be in our GROUP.

What we do
Our 6 Co-produced Strategic Objectives
Education
- Influence key stakeholders at all levels to actively promote and encourage people to enter the sector
- Actively work to shift perceptions of working in the industry from low in aspiration to high quality, talented individuals
- Raise awareness to show how people within the sector are truly valued for how they care
Recruitment
- Develop awareness with prospective applicant to the different types of care and provide information to enable them to make informed choices as to which area would best suit them.
- Raise awareness about the differences between each sector of social care and develop a mechanism whereby candidates can self- match their values to the right sector to enable success and longevity within the sector.
Training
- Create and deliver a grief awareness training package that includes a death and dying module to prepare those working within the sector to enable them to be more aware of the impact of grief.
- Influence key stakeholders to make this form part of mandatory training for those working within the care sector.
Communication
- Continue with the #WorkingTogether model and gather more associates that want to form cluster groups to enable working together at a local level to deliver change
- Promote the positive voice of social care and celebrate the value and success stories within it.
Business Services
- Within cluster groups, help develop joint ways of working that allows use of shared resources, delivers benefits of economies of scale and joint purchasing strength
Innovation & AI
- Simply put, innovation is about successfully implementing a new idea and creating value for your individuals and stakeholders.
- Innovation starts with a new idea.
- It could be a plan for an improved product or service. It could be an updated method for running your operations; it could also be a new business model.
- Social Care is a face-to-face business but that does not stop new ideas being created and we want to ensure that these are given credence and the opportunity to thrive.
